REVIEW: NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Tea Rose

NYX is well-known for its lipsticks, especially for their Soft Matte Lip Creams. However, I was also curious about their Extra Creamy Round Lipsticks. They are the cheapest lipsticks in their assortment. I was doubting between picking up two of their shades; Thalia and Tea Rose. Thalia is a more cool-toned pink colour and Tea Rose lies on the neutral side. I figured Tea Rose would be a more wearable everyday colour, so I chose that one.

NYX states on their website that the Extra Creamy Round Lipsticks give a velvet texture saturated colour. It will resists wear and smudging with its mineral-based emollient formula. The shade Tea Rose is a light rose-pink colour. I found that it looked brighter on my lips than in the stick. It's a pretty pink colour with some shine to it. You can apply the lipstick as intense as you want it to be. For everyday, I just apply one coat and rub my lips. If I want a brighter pink, I just apply 2-3 layers. If you have very tan skin colour, this may be too light and too pink (almost barbie-like) for your taste.

The lipstick applies quite well, gives off a nice colour the first you apply it. However, I do find (although it's in the name) that the formula may be a little bit too creamy. It can transfer a bit if you are not careful enough. But it's not that big of an issue for me.

There is one thing I really cannot stand about this product; the scent. The scent is so off-putting and too strong for my liking. The first time I put this lipstick I immediately noticed the strong soapy scent. If you don't like strong scents, I wouldn't recommend this lipstick. If it doesn't bother you, go for it!

INGREDIENTS: Diisostearyl Malate, Bis-DiglycerylPolyacyladipate-2, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Octyldodecanol, IsostearylIsostearate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax /Euphorbia Cerifera Cera / Cire de Candelilla, Ceresin, Beeswax / Cera Alba /Cire d’abeille, Polyisobutene, Polyethylene, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax/ Copernicia Cerifera Cera / Cire de Carnauba, Microcrystalline Wax / CeraMicrocristallina / Cire Microcristalline, Tocopheryl Acetate, BHA, Limonene, Fragrance / Parfum

The ingredients aren't anything special, but you can't expect much for such an inexpensive lipstick like this one.

Conclusion: Really, for the price I cannot complain. It is a pretty pink colour that can be worn everyday and can lift up your look. The lipstick will obviously not survive a meal, but it's staying power is not that bad. I only wished that they toned down the scent a bit, because it's too strong for me.

I bought the NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Tea Rose at Douglas for €3.99
